Pieces of me
Ganked from mrlnpndrgn who asked me to play.

Would you rather wear flats or heels to a formal occasion?
Definitely heels. Most likely strappy heeled sandals, usually black. My arse is too close to the ground to get away with flats.

Do you go to church every time it opens?
What is this "church" of which you speak?

When was the last time you held a baby?
At what age do they stop being a baby? If it's one year old, then I'd have to say 27 years ago.

Would you rather have grape or orange Crush (drink)?
Actually they both sound pretty revolting. How about a halfway decent Chardy?

When was the last time you went to Walmart or Kmart?
KMart, Tuesday last week. Looking for a birthday card.

What kind of yoghurt is your favourite?
French Vanilla yoghurt. Yummy!

Are you going to be getting a personalized birthday cake this year?
Bit old for that malarkey.

Do you know how many planets are in our solar system?
Well yes but I still count Pluto so I'm probably officially wrong.

What was the last big meal you ate?
Lunch yesterday with a couple of the guys from work. Pizza!

What is your favourite breed of dog?
German Shepherd. I don't have the time to care for a dog though.

Would you rather use a tanning bed or just the sun?
I never thought I'd say this, having spent my youth slathering myself in coconut butter and baby oil, but I can survive quite nicely without a tan these days.

When was the last time your school had a snow day?
Had what? We used to be allowed to go home when the temperature exceeded 100 degrees F, does that count?

Do you like watching fireworks on Independence day?
Not something that Australians celebrate. Riverfire fireworks are pretty cool, though.

Would you rather have an iPod or mp3 player?
MP3. I don't like the rigmarole that Apple makes you go through to upload music etc, with their proprietory software.

Do you have any relatives you're ashamed of?
Only the mass-murderer of whom we do not speak! *g* No, seriously, they're all cool. We've come a long way from the time when a convict ancestor immediately cast aspersions on your own character. Nowadays it's seen to be rather special to have a First Fleeter on the family tree.

Do you fear people will judge you from the answers you give in surveys?
If that worried me I wouldn't be answering this.

What is your favourite pair of shoes?
My white Skechers with the pink trim. They're really comfortable, I can be on my feet all day and not be tired.

What is the current day of the week?
Thursday

Are you related to the last person you talked to on the phone?
Only insofar as we share a birthday.
Actually, the last TWO people I spoke on the phone to today have the same birthday as me. They don't know each other though. I find that rather curious.

If you have a cell phone, what colour is it?
Silver and white

Do you ever actually use the installation Cd's that come with products?
Only if it won't plug and play.

How often do you shop on-line?
Pretty often, maybe once a fortnight. Bit of an online shopping addict here. Down, Amazon! Let go, ebay!

Do your lips chap really easily?
No.

Do you ever have pointless flings with people?
Yes, my friend and I fling things at each other for no real reason. Paperclips, pencil sharpeners....

Would you say you have a weak stomach?
Nah, cast iron gut here.

Is there anyone who actually likes your cooking?
Surprisingly, yes. And I don't understand why, because I really don't make an effort.
Most nights when I'm here by myself I don't cook though.

Who is all under "D" in your contacts in your cell phone?
David, Debbie, Dee, Dave, Denise, Daz1, Daz2.

Who was the last person to smoke a cigarette in your presence?
My son, but only because I followed him outside when he went out for a smoke.

Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?
Interstate friends that I'm catching up with this weekend.

Are you happy right now?
Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the way my life is at present.

What are your plans for tomorrow?
Work, followed by a regular monthly dinner with some friends from work. Going to a local Thai restaurant this time.

Who were you with at 7 last night?
Other members of the Semi Longhair Cat Club of Qld.

When is your birthday?
November.

Do you want to get married & have children one day?
Bin Dun.

Is there any food that you are craving right now?
Noo... but if I think about food for long enough I'm sure to come up with something.

Who do you not get along with?
Bullies, dishonest people. Otherwise I'm fairly easy going.

Would you date someone 20 years older than you?
Do people live long enough to get that old? *g*

Are you waiting for something?
Ebay parcel (trench coat). Amazon.co.uk parcel (George Gently)

Do you believe everyone deserves a second chance?
I think so... I struggle with the idea of capital punishment (eg Troy Davis - on death row for 20 years before they offed him? How does that even work?) I make mistakes, others do too.

Are you wearing make-up?
Not at present, washed it off when I got home from work.

What are you wearing?
Flannel pyjamas. No photos please!

Do you tend to fall for people easily?
No. It takes me a long time to get comfortable with new people.

Did you get a full 8 hours of sleep last night?
No. I suffer from Nettus Interruptus, otherwise known as the inability to switch off the computer and go to bed!

What are you doing on Thursday of this week?
That's today! Work, as usual, although I'm filling in at a different branch. Now I'm sat at the computer doing this questionnaire.

Is your current hair colour your natural hair colour?
No. *g* At the moment I look a bit like Julia Gillard.

Do people ever mistake you for being a different race?
Yes, sometimes I've had people ask me if I'm English. Including an English taxi driver, in England. That was a bit strange.

Can you tell the difference between different brands of bottled water?
I can't tell the difference between bottled and tap.

How many pairs of old navy flip flops do you have?
None at all. I do have a pale blue pair which I wear around the yard in hot weather, when the concrete is too hot from the sun to go barefoot.

Do you have a favourite coffee shop?
Not really. I kinda resent paying for coffee when I can make a perfectly good cup myself. Yeah, cheap, don't have to tell me.

Do your nails ALWAYS have to be painted
I am the least girly-girl you're likely to meet. I'm lucky if my nails are all approximately the same length, and even. Painted isn't even on the horizon.

Do you own a digital camera?
Two, actually. A cool Nikon which I bought to take o/s, and a really cute little purse-sized Casio which I bought in Harrods while o/s.

When you were younger, did you think you'd end up like you are now?
Never in my wildest dreams. At school I hated anything to do with maths, and here I am, all these years later, working as a credit analyst and loving it.

Do you have your baby picture in your room?
I don't know if I even have a baby picture.

When was the last time you visited the zoo?
That would have been around 2001 I think. The Federal Kitten show was held at Taronga Park Zoo one year.

Would you ever actually use one of those pens with the feathers on the end?
Use one? I own heaps! Most of them are for use when judging at cat shows - the feathers and ribbons are great for catching the cat's attention. But my favourite one has a Tigger bouncing among the feathers, and when you write with it a little light glows in the end!

Have you ever gotten your nails done?
I actually did get my nails done for my niece's 18th birthday a few years ago. Also, back in about 1996 when I was applying for a promotion at work.

Do you still hand out wallet-sized school pictures to your friends?
Do people actually do that?

Which of your friends do you argue with the most?
I have a friend from work with whom I regularly debate policy and procedures. We both interpret things quite differently. It's rather fun.

What was your first thought when you looked into the mirror this morning?
Damn I need to straighten my hair again before I go to work.

Where were you at 10pm Friday night?
Last Friday? Here, with my pc for company.

Is there anyone who doesn't like you because of something you didn't do?
Quite possibly.

Have you hugged anyone in the last 72 hours?
My Bodie-cat, if that counts.... :-)

b>Do you have any siblings?</b>
Yes.

Did you cry today?
Not much of a crier actually. It takes a fairly dramatic turn of events to upset me - or a silly sentimental movie. None of that today.

Is there someone in your life you don't want in it?
Not in my personal life. Work life? Yes, but that will change after tomorrow as he's leaving.

What happened at 10AM this morning?
Working on a loan submission. Business as usual.

Is your bedroom window open?
No, we've had a bit of a cold snap, it's only 16C outside at the moment so a bit too cool for open windows.

How late did you stay up last night and why?
Bed at midnight, reading a fic and had trouble tearing myself away from it. Have to finish reading it tonight.

Whose bed did you sleep in last night?
Mine.

What are your plans for this weekend?
Meeting up with aforementioned interstate friends, who are camping at a location about 100km south of me. We're having a picnic lunch. Must remember to take my camera. Then Sunday will be spent poking about here probably.

Well there's an hour of my life I'll never see again.

I rather like these rambly sort of memes, a peek over the garden fence if you will.

I have to join you in the non-girly girl camp. I know how to do that stuff, I learned that studying drama, but most of the time I can't be arsed. :D

OOh I love peeking over garden fences! And going for walks right on dusk, when everyone's front lights are on but before they draw their curtains, and you can get tiny glimpses of their lives.

it's only 16C outside at the moment so a bit too cool for open windows.

That always cracks me up!
Up here, we've been known to open the bedroom windows at night during the winter (even if it's -15C).
Our houses are so airtight they don't breathe enough. Hence the need to open the windows ;-)
Plus I sleep better when the bedroom is cooler.

Thanks for doing this : seeing the world from your side of things is always interesting.

We share the one planet yet our experiences of the world are so different.
Great, isn't it *g*
I abhor the cold. I'll have windows open during the day - and usually my back door, too - but as soon as night falls, I shut everything back up.
