The decline in pirates has resulted in global warming.
Grand final this afternoon sees Collingwood play Geelong for the AFL flag. Who'd have thought that the winner could have a profound effect on the economy?

"Every Collingwood premiership in the past 100 years had either led to an Australian recession, depression or a prolonged period of sub-par growth," a National Australia Bank economist said on Friday. "Will back-to-back premierships drive us deeper into the abyss?"

New Zealanders should be hoping there is no rugby league corollary, where a team from a lower socio-economic demographic can drive the country into economic hardship - if the Warriors win tomorrow, New Zealand could be in real strife. They've already had their credit rating cut by Standard and Poor this week from AAA to AA+.

We had better pray for a Geelong win then. We cannot stand the 'current' Collingwood. When Peter Eakins played for them they were OK (West Australian player, long time ago and now sadly gone).

Go the CATS !

As we are both cat lovers they had better win ;)

Good old Collingwood forever, we know how to play the game....
sorry, you're talking to a dyed in the wool Magpie supporter here!

Like I said, once upon a time I liked them.

Geelong have a Selwood brother, West Coast Eagles (my AFL team) has 2. Blood is thicker than water.

I just hope it is not one sided. Like it to go down to the wire like Sydney-WCE grand finals. Keep everyone on the edge of their seats.

One of us will be happy before the day is out.

Just thinking, you have Mick Malthouse ... he was our coach for our first 2 Grand Finals. So, in a thinking outside the box way, the Eagles will win ;)
