Or maybe not. *g*
Remember when I posted here about my kitten-in-waiting? Well he's getting a lot closer. He'll go in for his little op soon, and not long after he'll be old enough to pack his little port and hop on a plane to sunny Brisbane.

Below is a vid taken just this week (see? youtube IS for cats!) that I just have to share with everyone. He's so gorgeous! I could just eat him with a spoon.
It's been teeming with rain at Alison's for the last few days; the muddy towels on the floor are for her little dog Annie when she comes inside after answering the call of nature. Annie gets a cameo spot in the vid, too.

I shared this with sunray45 this morning, and when I got home from work I found she'd screencapped it and sent me a selection of stills. Thanks so much! *hugs*.

ETA: link to earlier post retrained - it now goes to kitten photos like it should. *g* Oops!

He. Is. So. CUTE! What a sweet little bouncy ball of fur.

Isn't he just?! Coat him with chocolate sauce and eat him up like ice cream.
alimspinto64 on March 1st, 2012 11:41 am (UTC)
He's adorable. I could really do with cuddling him right now, as I'm feeling poorly (I mustn't let Merlin read this post though!)

Sending virtual cuddles and headbutts. Sorry you're feeling poorly, and I hope the antibiotics kick in soon.
alimspinto64 on March 2nd, 2012 12:49 pm (UTC)
Thank you, the cuddles and head butts are most welcome. Actually, my legs aren't quite as red and painful today.

It's a Norwegian thing, my Snook held his tail up straight like that too. Birmans, on the other hand, are far too lazy and while they do hold their tails up, the top section falls to one side, making a perfect question-mark.
They're funny as kittens, though, when their tails aren't in proportion to their body and stick straight up; they look like little remote-control kitties.

Shouldn't need sedation, most cats handle a flight pretty well. They just curl up in their boxes and go to sleep. The worst bit is getting on and off the aircraft; I've seen airport luggage handlers get a bit rough on occasion.

Good news! Alison has decided to deliver him personally so I won't need to worry about him on a plane now. It's a long drive for her (and him!) but it should be a bit less scary.
anonpussynamer: egyptienneanonpussynamer on March 3rd, 2012 03:15 pm (UTC)
That's terrific news that Alison's coming up to deliver him to you! Just thinking - that's one hell of a looooooooooooong trip for both of them, isn't it? All be worth it when they arrive .. *hugz*

PS - say "g'day" to her from me too, pretty please with strawberries & cream on top. *wink*
miwahni: cats Gandalf the grey and whitemiwahni on March 3rd, 2012 03:18 pm (UTC)
It IS a long drive, but infinitely preferable to a plane trip. With the added bonus that we get to spend a bit of time which will be nice. I'll definitely pass on your greeting, no worries there.
anonpussynamer: egyptienneanonpussynamer on March 3rd, 2012 03:28 pm (UTC)
Used to take us 13 hours from Mallanganee to Sydney - so I'm guessing a couple of days easy. Yes, the added bonus will be great and thanks for passing on my greeting (although I saw Alison has posted so said "g'day" here too. ;)

I think that link goes to a posting about Sherlock... or perhaps it's just me. *g*

He's adorable and I'm assuming the comments about his profile have to do with a breed standard?

snowstar1965 on March 1st, 2012 02:25 pm (UTC)
Thanks for all the great comments about Thenderbum (yes I know it's a terrible nickname I am known for it lol).

The way he is holding his tail is very much a thing that is a trait of the breed. The profile comment was to do with how straight his nose is :-) They have to have very straight noses. A lot of breeders try to say that the kittens at this age don't have straight noses still as they are still straightening out which is totally wrong. They are straight at the age of about 8 weeks. IF not then they wont be :-)

I am sorry about the muddy towels in my house though we are getting torrential rain & that is meaning that poor Annie is having to swaim to get to a higher point to go toilet poor thing. People are being evacuated now, its actually getting a bit worrying but I live on a very high point so I am lucky.

I am sorry my house is a mess but I have been having constant migraines so yeah. Also the kitten pen on the camping mat is due to two 10kg + cats (the white NFC & the Raggie) they aren't nasty but if they played & hurt the baby whilst I was out I would never forgive myself as I did this mating especially for Bev)

Anyway Once again Thanks for then nice comments & I am so glad that Bev is so happy with her baby boy :-)

Re: Thunderbum
I'm so excited! And couldn't be happier with him. I'm just so grateful that you a) were prepared to put off retirement for one last litter, b) actually got the preferred colour/sex combination on the first go, and c) are prepared to entrust me with your baby.
anonpussynamer: egyptienneanonpussynamer on March 3rd, 2012 03:21 pm (UTC)
Re: Thunderbum
I didn't realise that you were here - so here's a "G'day" from me now! *g* He's an adorable little boy and I love the name "Thunderbum", which is quite appropriate considering the weather situation in NSW at the moment! LOL Oh, and what mess? I didn't see anything - just some gorgeous, scrummy, fluffballs running around the house, having fun. :)

Aargh! Thanks for the heads-up. See what happens when I try to multi-task? ;-) Link fixed now. Funny, that's just made me aware that I lack a proper face-palm icon....

Yes, NFOs should have a straight profile, from forehead down to nose with no bump or stop. He's looking good at a very early age, which is promising.

Also, am I misunderstanding here or are you having him fixed?
miwahni: cats Cardimiwahni on March 2nd, 2012 10:19 am (UTC)
No misunderstanding. He's coming to me as a show neuter, not for breeding. I'm pretty-well retired from breeding while work takes up so much of my time (kittens need a LOT of time spent with them!) and when I did breed, it was Birmans that I specialised in. Snook was my ring-in.
Strike while the irony is hot: EMO -- THINK -- PONDERSdraycevixen on March 2nd, 2012 02:30 pm (UTC)

Ah, my only familiarity with show pedigrees in recent years is via colleagues who bread and show Borzoi. They can't fix their dogs and show them. Perhaps this varies between cats and dogs and/or countries.
miwahni: cats showing offmiwahni on March 2nd, 2012 02:36 pm (UTC)
It's the same here in Oz, neutered/speyed dogs can't be shown. Cats, however, have no such restrictions and compete in their own class for Alters.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.

And really, while Americans aren't as animal obsessed as the English tend to be, they really aren't "breading" their dogs.

Typos, gotta love 'em. *headdesk*

Heh. I had visions of hot dogs, or crumbed Collies or similar.
sunray45: BevsKittysunray45 on March 2nd, 2012 08:16 am (UTC)
I still reckon he should be named Raymond, or Doyle, cause he has a patch on his bum and likes showing it to everyone. *bg*
miwahni: cats ping pongmiwahni on March 2nd, 2012 10:21 am (UTC)
Butterfly butt! You iconed him! Squee!
Actually emailed Alison today to suggest Ziggy Stardust as a registered name, just because. Not sure if she's used it previously though, have to wait and see. Doyle would be a good "home" name, seeing as how I have a Bodie already.
sunray45: BevsKittysunray45 on March 2nd, 2012 11:31 am (UTC)
I couldn't resist that little butt. *g* You can have the icon if you want it.

Doyle would definitely be a good home name, 'cause you can't have Bodie without Doyle. 'Never far apart' remember.
miwahni: pros never far awaymiwahni on March 2nd, 2012 11:50 am (UTC)
Thank you!!! I've grabbed it but won't upload it until I have the name sorted out for sure.
Never Far Apart indeed!
*points to icon* more gratuitous bum shots, always a good thing.

Re: Thunderbum!
Oooohwaaaaaaaaa .. how utterly adorable! You really should have him registered as Snowstars Thunderbum, y'know. *g* It suits him ... an' it's rainin' out there so would be purr-fect.

One seriously cute little boy there - and he looks to be such a little character with it all. Won't be long now, hey? :)

Re: Thunderbum!
Only a few more weeks. Excitement! Finally settled on his official name today after much to-ing and fro-ing and no, it's not Thunderbum *g*. Ziggy Stardust instead.
anonpussynamer: egyptienneanonpussynamer on March 3rd, 2012 03:26 pm (UTC)
Re: Thunderbum!
That's a cool name - love David Bowie's stuff from the 70s (trust me to think of that - well, he can't be The Thin White Duke, can he?). Hehehehe ... but awwwww, no Thunderbum. :( That would make the show secretaries look, wouldn't it, if that was his show name? (You know some of the names I've had and they've been "pretty close to the bone".....) *snicker*
miwahni: cats ping pongmiwahni on March 3rd, 2012 03:33 pm (UTC)
Re: Thunderbum!
Heh, you've had some beauties over the years.
I love Bowie, and when this occurred to me (on the bus to work yesterday morning) it seemed perfect! I was pretty pleased when Alison confirmed she'd never registered a cat with that name before.
anonpussynamer: retarded kittyanonpussynamer on March 3rd, 2012 03:36 pm (UTC)
Re: Thunderbum!
Bowie back in the day was great, wasn't he? However, "Spiders From Mars" wouldn't really make a good kitty name, would it? ;) Then again .....

Ah yes, names - best one was, of course, Knackers! He was a darling and we got a lot of mileage out of that name - easier than his real name (Akhenaten) to say when introducing him to people .... ;)
miwahni: cats showing offmiwahni on March 3rd, 2012 03:49 pm (UTC)
Re: Thunderbum!
I remember Knackers! Bit of a character too to go with his name.
And no, Spiders From Mars wouldn't do, quite apart from the fact that there area too many letters in it.
anonpussynamer: retarded kittyanonpussynamer on March 4th, 2012 03:36 pm (UTC)
Re: Thunderbum!
Knackers was the best little mate - it was so sad when he passed over the Rainbowbridge all those years ago. A happy, friendly little Aby who charmed all who met him, hey? Then again, his parents weren't slouches in the temperament department either ....

Ah, bugger - too many letters! I think it'd be a good name for a Group 2 cat tho - LL had "Spiderlegs", who was a long-legged chocolate point girl. You'd remember her too. ;)
