Nearly late this morning.
It's like the day was conspiring against me from the start - as though it wanted me to stay home. It would have been a perfect day for it - 28 degrees with a warm breeze, after a light rainfall last night and a foggy start.

Woke this morning to the alarm on my ipod buzzing, and in my semi-awake state wondered who was in my bedroom using a sonic screwdriver... *g* then woke properly, realising that the room was pitch black with the lamp on my clock radio unlit, and a blank screen on the radio itself. Looking out the window I couldn't see any lights on in the street, and figured we'd had a blackout during the night, but when I made my way out to the lounge I could see that the light on the air conditioner was flashing. Something had tripped the power to the power points during the night - aircon has its own circuit and was unaffected, and I still had lights. I held my breath when I went to the meter box and flipped the switch back on, but all was good - nothing blew up and the power stayed on *fingers crossed it stays that way*.

... and that, boys and girls, is why I have a backup alarm which doesn't rely on the house power supply.

Got a text from Translink at 7.32am to advise me that the 7.10am express bus had been cancelled. Yeah, I think I'd figured it out by then. Luckily the buses come ten minutes apart in the peak hour, and I normally arrive at work 15 minutes early, so it wasn't a drama.

How much do I love that your first thought was of a sonic screwdriver. :D

I'm glad to hear that it was an easy fix.

It's actually done it again, three more times in fact - I think my new monitor overloaded the powerboard so I unplugged something else and it's been all right since. (fingers crossed).
