Change of Job

At the beginning of this week I was a Loans Clerk, while my boss was a Senior Lending Manager. Nice, simple titles that describe what we do. Now I am a Personal Banker Assistant, while Lyn is a Personal Relationship Manager (2). While the titles are a bit more elegant, they don't give a hint as to what we actually do, nor do they provide any more money. In fact, Lyn's title sounds as though she should have a red light above her door.

It's change for change's sake, I can't see any other reason for this. Our area manager used to be known as Area Manager, then Lending Services & Operations Manager, then Regional Manager's Assistant, and now he's an Area Manager again. Why? I think they must have a stationery budget, and they're worried that if they don't use it, it will be taken away.
