This Weekend

I can't believe I went to bed before 11.30 last night. A Saturday night! Usually I'm up until around 2am but last night I simply could not keep my eyes open a moment longer. I'd spent all day packing and cleaning up, and was exhausted. Still, I managed to get a whole lot done and I now feel like it's really under control. It SO interferes with Real Life though. I haven't had the energy to get involved with anything lately, knowing that the packing awaited. It will be nice when it's all done. And then I get to do it all in reverse.

Watched the V8 Supercars from Eastern Creek this afternoon, it was much more important than packing some silly boxes. Craig Lowndes finished second! Yay! I still think of them as Touring Cars, and the ATCC, with the big Bathurst race being the James Hardie. And THAT took long enough - for years I was still calling it the Hardie Ferodo 500. Nowadays i"ve lost track of the sponsors, they seem to change so often, and refer to it simply as Bathurst. Hell, I know what I mean. And that's the important thing, isn't it, boys and girls?

And watched another three episodes of Blakes 7 last night, while eating dinner. I hope the remaining three seasons will be released on DVD soon. Wobbly sets and dodgy science, the stories are still good, and the interaction between the crewmembers is really entertaining. As in the scene where Avon, having argued bitterly with Blake, saves Blake from an explosion. As they dust themselves off Blake turns to Avon & says "Thanks. Why?" To which Avon replies "Automatic reaction. I'm as surprised as you are."
The sad part, of course, is that every episode is overshadowed by my knowledge of the events in the final episode of the series.
