The three sentences are:-

It was in Sydney that the hitherto-impeccable organisation of the Repco - results service and press liaison apart - fell to bits. All points lost on the transport section into Sydney had been wiped, obviously because whoever set the section had no idea of the problems of getting through Sydney traffic on a Friday.

The book - "An Old Dog For A Hard Road" subtitled The Inside Story of the 1979 Repco Round-Australia Reliability Trial, by Bill Tuckey and Thomas B Floyd.
What a flashback, and I don't even do drugs....hey APN, do you remember this event? Were you living then where you are now? It went through that part of the countryside.
