What an amazing world we live in

My son's still a few years short of 30, but he's never known a world that didn't have Star Trek - or Star Wars, for that matter. And Man had always been to the moon. He's not experienced a (black and white) tv channel that closes for the evening around midnight, and recommences broadcasting at 9am. Nor has he ever not been able to record his favourite tv show for consumption later.
He can't remember what it was like not to have a personal computer, and he's never used a public phone box in his life. He was born too late to understand the concept of letter-writing as an art, and he doesn't know what it's like to have a tranny hung from the rear vision mirror as a car radio. Microwave ovens are commonplace and ordinary in his world.
All this makes me wonder - what kind of a world will his children grow up in, and what marvellous things, yet to be invented, will they take for granted?
