Just life

Today involved attendance at a three-hour training course which left me scratching my head. I'm not really sure what the point of it was; we heard a lot of stories about the trainer's dating experiences, and somehow were to relate that back to offering risk insurance to our customers.

Afterwards my area manager asked me if I felt the course was beneficial, and I told her that I didn't think I was the right person to ask, as there's still this huge disconnect between me and my job since getting back from my holidays. That was her cue to advise me that I still have too much accrued annual leave (the trip away involved part of my long service leave) and will have to look at taking some in the near future. I don't think that will be too hard to organise.

It would at least give me time to get a few things done around here. My gas heater needs to be serviced; there's something wrong with the ignition switch and while I can get it to turn on (after numerous attempts) I can't get it to stay on for any length of time. Tonight it took nearly twenty minutes to get it going, and it switched itself off again after an hour. I didn't bother lighting it again again as it isn't that cold, but the next few nights are supposed to be down into single digits. I have the reverse-cycle air conditioner that I can run, but I have two perfectly good full gas bottles already paid for that I should be using.
