I was dismayed to hear on the radio this morning that Gilly is hanging up his gloves at the end of the one day international series. I know he's copped a lot of flak from the media over his five dropped catches this summer, but as far as I'm concerned he's still the best wicketkeeper in the world. And a fair-to-middling batsman as well *g* - especially as an opener in the one dayers where his flair with the bat was often responsible for putting Australia in an unbeatable position. He is eminently watchable at the crease, as thousands of his fans will attest. Enjoy your retirement, mate, and I wish you all the best for whatever your future holds. I think it will take a long time for Australian cricket to recover from your loss.
