This languid heat.

All evening I've been getting severe weather warnings from the BoM, mentioning the possibility of heavy rainfall and flash flooding to various parts of Brisbane. It has been raining earlier, and right now the air is heavy and still, as if the sky is holding its breath, waiting. This has been a bad storm season, this year, certainly the worst I remember in a long time.
Meanwhile the girlies have draped themselves across the tops of the bookcases, as is their wont, and someone is grizzling in her sleep. Such an odd sound, coming from my placid sweet girl. At the first hint of thunder they'll be wide-eyed and watching.
