Show day!

First cat show of the year today for me, and what a hot one it was. I nearly didn't go, as I'd not entered anyone, but finally figured I should put in an appearance. It was just after 11am when I arrived, because I got my Sunday sleep-in, but then I stayed to help pack up at the end of the day.
But crikey it was hot. Not so bad for the exhibits, who all had lovely ice bricks to sleep on in their cages, but dreadful for the exhibitors and helpers. My clothes were wet through by the time we'd finished lugging tables back and sweeping the floor.
Driving out, I managed to miss the turn-off for the Warrego Highway. I'm still not sure how I did that; we've had our shows at Karalee for a while now and I've never missed the turn before. Can't have been paying attention. More likely the heat had addled my brain.

Last night, I received an email from a friend, asking what I'd been up to over the last week. I replied, and mentioned that my phone was out of order too. So tonight I find this in my inbox:
I know i tried to ring you ring me to night please
What part of "My phone's not working" does she not understand??? At least it gave me a laugh!
