We went for a long walk this morning; I wish I'd thought to bring my camera as we came across a nesting tawny frogmouth. Very hard to see in the tree, they really camouflage themselves well, but my friend knew it was there and once she'd pointed it out to me it seemed so obvious. Its mate was nearby, also blending in with the branch he sat on. They mate for life, apparently.
I made it a round trip; having travelled down by the Pacific Highway then cut through Lismore on the Bruxner Highway, I decided to go home through Casino and onto the Summerland Way to Kyogle, then the Mount Lindesay Highway back home. 430km all up.
