The past week has been filled with activity. My sister and her family have been visiting from Sydney and we've had a wonderful time doing touristy things. On Wednesday we went to the Big Pineapple at Nambour, and the Not-Quite-As-Big- Macadamia. We then trekked to a huge beach at Mooloolaba where we reclined on the sand, getting sandblasted by the abrasive wind. Heading homeward, my nephew Michael pointed to a paddock and commented on the big rabbits grazing there. "Um, Michael - I think you'll find they're kangaroos. You know, our national emblem?" Poor Michael was so embarrassed!
When he turns 21 I'm bringing a photo of kangaroos to his party. Just to make sure he knows the difference now.
