In Which We Fade To Black

I was playing around with my computer settings earlier this evening, putting my desktop and screensaver back to their original settings, having made them child-friendly for the duration of my sister's visit (off, porn! Off!). Decided to change the theme as well but managed to turn my whole screen black. All I had were icons glowing like stars on a sea of midnight velvet. No writing, nothing. I tried putting things back but without being able to see anything I clicked on, it was like stumbling round in the dark at midnight in a coal pit trying to find a licquorice.
Finally, in sheer desperation I called Ezekiel, who kindly sacrificed his evening in order to sort out my problems. ComputerGeek Man saves the day!
