I was fortunate to be able to attend the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph in Brisbane today. I'd expected a larger crowd than that gathered; maybe the heat of the day kept people away. All the same it was a very moving, emotional ceremony, in particular for the participants (as opposed to the spectators like myself). As well as the usual turnout of VIPS there were a lot of older men in attendance, with wreaths to be laid. Can't help but think their numbers will continue to be boosted, the longer that our presence in Afghanistan drags out. Sadly, today also marked the funeral of one of the three Diggers killed in Afghanistan last month.
