How did it get to be Sunday already?
Saturday just flew by. Luckily I have another long weekend because I applied to take annual leave on Monday; I have friends from interstate arriving later today and heading off again late tomorrow.

Christmas tree and decorations should have come down on Friday but what with work and all I didn't quite get around to it, so down they came yesterday instead. I didn't realise exactly how big my tree is until I saw how much space I have in my loungeroom now that the tree is packed away. And it doesn't seem that long ago that I was putting it up; where did the time go?

I noticed Friday night that the water wasn't getting away from the bath as quickly as it should, and it was even worse during my shower earlier tonight. By the time I'd finished washing my hair I was ankle-deep in water. Luckily a liberal application of Drano did the trick and now the water is escaping immediately.

What else? I watched a movie earlier tonight - The Men Who Stare At Goats. For some reason I expected it to be a lot more serious than what it was. Instead it was a crazy trip from start to finish. I'm not a George Clooney fan (and thank heavens he pulled out of The Man From U.N.C.L.E.!) but this movie was a lot of fun.

ETA: What has LJ done this time? TAGS don't work, or at least neither the autofill or the "Select Tags" option are working, and the "post comment" function on other people's journals is fubared.

Perhaps it is something to do with Mozilla then (sad-face). Greasemonkey is - well I'm not really sure how to describe it, except to say that it runs scripts (from what I understand) that make things happen / not happen. Howzat for vague! I started using it when the original kerfuffle about cross-posting to other social media platforms arose.
*Thinks* so maybe that's why I'm seeing all these options again? But no, I've had greasemonkey disabled for weeks and this is the first time I've had these options presented.

Re Tags - when putting tags in the "Tags" box... usually I only have to start typing and a drop-down box of choices appears, but not tonight it would seem.

Oh bollocks, I think they're rolling back the recent changes - my gorgeous visual icon list is gone, and it's back to the select-an-icon thingie that never worked, or else just from the text list... :(

I'm guessing that's why things have changed for you too, now, they're working on it...

Oh, just bollocks, I knew they'd do this to everyone, when there was all that shouting...

Actually I take it back, I don't think they have after all... Phew! I was looking at something else completely, forgot that actually my happy-visuals don't come attached to it anyway, and jumped to sad-faced conclusions... *headdesk*

Hmmn - I was worried about that nasty big list of choices for posting too, but it only seems to pop up now and again, and only for a single post/comment, then I don't see it again for months and months (thank goodness!) Do you have crpssposting disabled in your lj?

If you have any other browser downloaded, perhaps you could check things by glancing at lj through that? (I know, you already thought of that... *g*

No, I hadn't thought to try it in amother browser *g*. I'm now looking at it in IE and the list of options has disappeared. I did have cross-posting disabled via a greasemonkey script but that has been gone now for a few weeks, so why it chose last night to muck up I don't know.

That visual icon list only appears for me on certain journals, not all. Depends on whether the lj has a custom script or not. On a lot of them I still get the drop-down box. I don't mind the visual one, although it's a pain scrolling through nearly 200 icons when I'm used to looking in alphabetical order, knowing that all my Pros icons were grouped together for example.

Ah, interesting... *g* You know, I reckon you should try not bothering with Greasemonkey at all for a while, and go into lj and customise the things you want/don't there at root level. To be honest I've always been a big fan of going straight to the basics, and not trying to use middlemen of any kind... *g* But then, if there's stuff you can't customise via lj, perhaps you can try greasemonkey again on just the few things that are left, and it won't be working so hard when it doesn't need to?

Actually the visual icon list is only there on ljs which have disabled customised comments - I actually went into my lj and did that, because I like the visual icons! I wish more people would, because having to use the drop-down text again on other people's pages makes me realise how much easier it is to choose from the visuals!

It threw me a little that they weren't alphabetical too, but then I realised they were in the order I'd added them (as is my icons page), so I just need to remember approximately when. I actually find it much easier to choose one when I see them visually (the visual select function they had previously, and still have in some places, never worked) and I've started using icons that I haven't for a long time, because having the actual image in front of me makes me realise that it can be appropriate, whereas the names I've given them, whilst descriptive, mean I categorise them more narrowly in my head, if you see what I mean... Alphabetical would be useful, but I've thought that for years about my icon list... *g*
