Another week's gone
It's Sunday already - admittedly the wee smalls, but Sunday all the same. This time last week I was sleeping in my spare room after discovering that a leak in my waterbed had turned the particleboard deck and plinth to mush. Now I have a brand new beautiful waterbed with a heater that actually works. I hadn't realised that my old one was quite as useless as it was. Still, it dates back to late 1989 so I should not have been surprised.

Puss has settled in beautifully, to the extent that I woke up this morning to Bodie growling as Puss had decided to join us on my bed. She's still got the boys well and truly sorted.

And Ratty - mother of Princess Fatty Kitten, Little Dot and Flossie - is not well. Had blood taken today but results won't be in until Monday. She's thirteen years old and has liver problems but I don't know if it's her liver this time that's made her ill. She's just not interested in food, which is most unlike her.

What else? Oh, dinner with friends on Friday night, at the Hogs Breath Cafe. I actually made it to dessert - they do a beautiful mud cake - but wasn't able to fit it all in.

Tomorrow I'll be scrubbing at my front railings with a wire brush, and may even get as far as doing the first coat of paint. Such joy, I can hardly contain myself. It will be nice when it's done though.

All right, I'm experiencing a little envy here as I badly want a new bed. I've been looking at options and a waterbed hadn't even occurred to me.

Glad to here that Puss is settling in.

I'm sorry to hear about Ratty. I hope she's all right.

I don't know that I could ever go back to a standard mattress. I did sleep well in my spare bed but the waterbed is something special, especially if you have any kind of joint problems.
They're just a nuisance if the bladder springs a leak *g*

Ratty got out of bed and had a bite to eat tonight so hopefully it was just a tummy bug.

YAY for the new bed and a heater that works! Definitely need it these cold nights.

Glad to hear that Puss is a bit more sociable. Must be hard for her trying to settle in, especially with yours boys to keep under her control. Poor Ratty. It's so hard to know what to do when they get sick.

Did you get your railings scrubbed? At least doing that would keep you warm. Hope the arm muscles are holding up. *g*

The bed heater is fantastic on nights like tonight; the outside temperature has just dipped into single figures but I'll be snug and warm.

Railings are scrubbed but not yet started the painting. Jay and Jess came over and replaced the fly wire in my front screen door for me, as it's a mongrel job using that pet mesh screen, and then we sat and talked. Painting will have to wait for next weekend now.

Puss doesn't like the boys, especially Bodie, and she chases them down the hallway if they get too close to her. Deb suggested tonight that Puss might need to go back into the Little Paws cattery if she won't leave the boys alone but I won't have that happen, she's a dear little person and they'll just have to learn to get along.
