Found this photo on James Rhodes' twitter feed:

Would that be Moscow, towards the right hand side?

And I'm glad they cleared this up:

That is a stunning pic - I wonder where they got the colours of the lights from, you don't usually see them in night-light pics like that... and yeah, I reckon Moscow!

The really scary thing is that the sign was probably prompted by too many people asking... *g*

I wondered if the colour of the lights related in some way to the density; whatever the source, it makes for a beautiful photo.

I'm now picturing gnomes on very short milking stools patting the side of 'ol Bessy' the hereford black and white cat...

That first picture is fascinating. Would love to see something like that over our region.

The second one, well! There probably are a lot of idiots around if they have to ask that question. *g*

It would be something to see, wouldn't it? There would be vast black spaces over the deserts, with the eastern fringe lit up like a Christmas tree.

When my son was little I used to tell him that my family was so poor when I was growing up that we had to milk the dog for our cereal each morning. He eventually saw through that, but he always believed me about Mexican Jumping Spiders.
Seriously, I should never have had kids. I AM A BAD PARENT!!! *g*
