Weekend and rec.
Gorgeous weather this weekend! I took a book outside at lunchtime today and read for an hour in the sun, and managed to get a bit sunburnt on my face, arms and knees.

Found this lovely vid last night - it could be subtitled "The Evolution of a Friendship". It's done with a very light touch - sweet without ever tipping over into soppiness.

I love those guys, sigh...I hate that part of me is resisting adding Mary to the mix in series 3; why am I so possessive of John and Sherlock's bond, not wanting even Mary to come between them, ha; that is a bit 'not good,' as John would say. Hopefully once I see the dynamic of all 3 of them interacting I will get over it, otherwise I'm not going to enjoy series 3 very much! It makes no sense for me to feel that way, I know; heck, in RDJ/JL's "Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows," I was actually happy when Sherlock tossed Mary off the train! Shame on me, I know!

It might be a bit "not good" but you're not alone there. It worries me - I don't want to see John made to choose between Mary and Sherlock, and I don't want to see Sherlock feeling that his one friend has pushed him aside. And I guess I don't want to see Mary discarded by John just because Sherlock is back; I wouldn't be pleased to see his character made into a bastard. So that leaves us with all three of them getting along, and I just can't imagine that at all.

Thank god we have fanfic to fix things.

Yep; between going back to work and dealing with the new class from Hades (seriously, what is UP with kids these days?!!) and feeling increasingly grief-stricken over my mom (who has started going downhill quickly, her time here definitely running out), I think these days Sherlock and Johnlock fics are the only thing helping me retain my sanity. They've become my escape for sure from rl concerns and woes; thank God we have such talented writers in this fandom. Now it's 7:23 am and in a few minutes I'm off to face another week with 2 dozen wild prek kids (mostly boys so far this term); I'm exhausted from 3 past nights of very little actual rest, plus last night I cried for a good while because my sis had just gone to see Mom and was telling me how terrible she looked compared to just a few days ago and how she showed my sis a photo of her tombstone, which is already ready for her, and she told my sis sadly that she still can't fathom that she's dying and is sad she won't get to stay here with everyone. It just hit me hard envisioning her grave, so I went to bed and just bawled like a baby, sigh. Now this morn my eyes are so so swollen and even my eye bags have bags, ugh. I'm sure I'll be looking up new Sherlock fanfics as soon as I drag home this afternoon to soothe my jagged mind!

I'm really sorry that your life sucks so much right now. It's going to be so difficult for you over the next little while - just remember that things DO get better. I lost my mum in 2001 and I know what you're going through in that respect. I didn't have to deal with the other things that you have to deal with, though, which must make it incredibly hard.

What a great vid and reading outside in the sunshine is lovely... well, when it's not too bloody hot to do so.

There are a lot of vids in this fandom that are trying to tell the exact same story - mainly focusing on the fall - so it was nice to find one with a different focus.
Is it still really hot where you are? We've had a very mild winter, looks like it will be a scorcher when the warmer weather arrives. Already 28 today and it's still winter.

It's pretty much very hot here from late April to late October and boiling hot from June until late September. Erm... woot?

Today the forecast is 102F + 94% humidity. It's a sauna.

Now that is seriously hot, and that humidity would kill me! I won't complain about the heat here again (well actually I probably will, can't help it sometimes).
Humidity is the worst. I can take the heat but the humidity just saps your energy. Bangkok is like that - it's like a slap in the face with a wet flannel when you walk out of an air conditioned building.
