I can't believe it's Friday night already. Been a bit of a disjointed week, this one, with the Ekka holiday on Wednesday (which I spent doing my tax! Wasted a day off, only to find I owe around $800 to the tax man!) which made it really hard to get back into gear for the last two days. Today I hit the wall around 4pm and from then on spent the rest of my day doing nothing productive at all.

Tomorrow I'm going shopping with my son's girlfriend. She's a lot of fun to spend time with, and as my son's birthday is approaching we're off to buy his birthday presents. They're both having dinner at mine, too, so that's the day gone. No plans for Sunday at this stage other than to sleep in, cats allowing.

I decided, back at the beginning of July, that I have been spending far too much money on frivolous things and I needed to pull my head in for a bit. A bit, being a few months at least. I had also decided that I need a much better vacuum cleaner than the one I currently have, and that I would save up for the one I really want; a Dyson Animal vac. Now I'm in a quandary - the vacuum cleaner is currently on sale at my local store, reduced by $250. Do I continue to save, or do I just jump in and buy it now? Decisions! Although I'm almost certain that before the weekend is done I'll own a new vacuum cleaner.

Anyway. Whatever your plans may be, I hope you have a terrific weekend!

Shopping with your son's girlfriend sounds like fun. It's always lovely when you manage to get on with the outlaws.. Erm, in-laws. *g*

The Dyson vac sounds like too good a deal to resist and how often do they go on sale? Sometimes buying can actually be an economy call, particularly when it's something you've planned on buying anyway. I think the secret to good budge management is learning to control impulse buys.

It was fun, today - J is terrific company. She's headed home now for a shower and change but will be back soon for dinner.

And yes, I grabbed the vacuum cleaner; couldn't resist when it was discounted so heavily. So much for my "not spending any money" but all in all I'm happy about it :-)

I say go for the vacuum cleaner now. $250 off is a good deal. And I've heard that the Dyson's are a very good machine. Happy shopping *g*

Thank you - I did end up buying it, too. Brought it home and tried it out, and was suitably impressed :-).
