It's been a long week.

I used to post here three or four times a week, but lately it's been getting more and more infrequent. Which makes me think that possibly a large part of my presence here was due to upset at work, and I'd come here to vent. New job, less stress, no upset - so the lack of posting is a good thing, right? Still, am going to try to be more diligent in future.

Dinner out tonight at a little Mexican restaurant; burritos stuffed with garlic prawns and seafood, and layered with sour cream, salsa and lettuce, served with Spanish rice. Yummy! I'm so full tonight that I'm feeling quite lethargic.

It's funny how the world works, how things manage to happen when you need / want them to. One thing I've struggled with, since changing jobs, is the drop in income - not my regular fortnightly pay, but the lack of bonuses that I previously earned - and I've had difficulty reining in my spending. Last Sunday I took stock of my recent discretionary spending and decided that I really can't spend anything more until the end of April, by which time I should have paid for my recent exuberances. Then I found something I really wanted, but being true to my decision I didn't buy; instead I started wondering how I could find a bit extra in the budget to pay for it without dipping into funds allocated elsewhere. And then the email came out at work, yesterday afternoon, offering to pay overtime rather than time in lieu to anyone who could put in some hours over the weekend. Just when I was looking for that bit extra! So I'm off to work for a few hours tomorrow, just long enough to earn the bit extra I was wanting.
