Bring on the winter blankets
Hard to believe that as recently as last Thursday I was still sleeping with just a sheet and cotton coverlet, and most nights was pushing the coverlet down to the foot of the bed. A cold front swept through on Friday and I used my doona for the first time this season, and last night I even switched to winter pyjamas. Spring and autumn just don't exist here, it's either summer or winter, no in between. There's been a chill wind blowing and even though the sun's been out both days it's been pretty cold. Well, cold for here, anyway, if you were out of the sun and with the wind blowing through you.

Took advantage of the arrival of cooler weather, and planted a mass of bulbs today. Jonquils, freesias and grape hyacinth, which have been sitting in my fridge for a few weeks now, waiting for the weather to turn. It's a good time to plant things, with a waxing moon, and the ground should be cool enough now for the bulbs to settle in nicely.

I agree. Winter arrived on Saturday, very suddenly and very unwelcome. Anything under 24 degrees is cold to me and if it's single figure nights it's horrible.

Oh I hear you! Bit better this morning, currently 14C at 6.30am. I can deal with that.
