Bits and pieces
My sense of self-preservation was on holidays today and as a result I'm now the secretary for my cat council. I've been minutes secretary for a couple of years, spent three years as president and one as treasurer, so I guess it's fitting that I take on the secretary role when our elected secretary stood down due to family health issues.

Weather has been glorious lately. The cold front that swept through at the beginning of the month has disappeared, and the days lately are back in the mid-20s. Not that I'm complaining, it's been lovely.

'Never volunteer for nuffink', so oops!

Love your icon (again!)

Our weather can't make up its mind what it is. It's getting irritating. I go out in a woolly jumper and end up carrying it and another two layers around in my bag; so then I nip out in just a shirt and vest top, and am saturated by a thunderstorm passing by. I feel put upon!

Icon seemed appropriate. It was a freebie with credit, so you're welcome to grab it.

Weather has been like that here, too - it's supposed to be late autumn and the mornings do start off a bit nippy, but then the sun comes out and the layers come off.

I should only need to spend a couple of hours each month on the secretary role, so it's not a big deal. But yeah, I'm usually hiding behind the door when the jobs are given out!

Now remember, we go to the meetings so we *won't* get put on the committee.

Well that's usually the plan, isn't it... and then there was the year that I didn't go to the AGM and got elected anyway... how does that even happen?!

But like I commented to mead above, should only take a couple of hours per month.

Seriously, I LOL'd at this. All too true!

I have been to two social gatherings recently which are groups who have not seen me since I was ill. And both of them have seized on me and been sure that I want to be back as member of one and on the committee of the other. I cannot tell you how wrong they are.

I have a very good technique for chairing meetings. Two very good techniques, actually. Technique number one is 'don't get nominated in the first place'. :)

They will both learn what technique number two is if they keep this up...
