Dobbers wear nappies

This just makes me cringe.

I usually take a keen interest in politics; not surprising, considering my father was quite political. He had me delivering election pamphlets and handing out how-to-vote cards on election day since I was ten or so, and even now I still have my own little election-night party, settling in with chips and dip (and a wee drinkie) until one side finally concedes.

But right now I am so disgusted with the whole bloody lot of them. Politicians, that is. If they're not ducking and weaving away from questions, then they're playing the blame game and laying responsibility for their decisions at the feet of the opposition party. Seriously (Campbell Newman I'm looking at you) you've been in power for over two years now - if you have to put up public transport fares once again, how about owning the bloody decision.

The recent ICAC corruption findings have done nothing to polish the image of politicians either. Mount Penny / Cascade Coal and Senator McDonald, plus the Obeids sticking their noses in; the Circular Quay leases not put out to tender once Obeid (again) has a whisper in someone's ear; Craig Thompson being jailed over his misuse of union funds, and now Geoff Shaw possibly being suspended from Parliament. Then there's the NSW Liberal slush fund for prohibited donations, and the Wilson union slush fund - it's almost impossible to have any sort of faith in either of the major parties any more.

I hear you!

We just voted in a new gov. in the provincial election. But it's the same bullsh*t as with the previous one.

I wish I could say the same - the ideology of our two major parties has run very closely over the last few years but our current government is dedicated to increasing the gap between rich and poor, whereas our previous government had socialist leanings. At least I can honestly say that I didn't vote for Abbott's mob.

On the provincial front, we have a rather hard-left-leaning party that's in the union's pockets. And the liberal party, which is in bed with the rich and famous.

On the federal side? We have the conservative, who has been the power for the last several years. And nothing to oppose it, as the liberals are in reconstruction (and have been for several years too).

I close my eyes and use a dart board!
