1.5 seconds of fame
Have I mentioned that my nephew models? Up until recently he's only done catwalk stuff, including summer and winter parades for David Jones and Ermenegildo Zegna,(and a recent trip to Milan) but now he's branching out into tv commercials. His first job was a Woolworths ad where he was sat so far down a long picnic table that his nearest and dearest couldn't spot him, but his next job gave him a bit more exposure. I still had to slow-mo the ad to pick him out, though. Right at the 34 second mark, just to the right of the main character (who apparently is someone famous? I dunno).

I hope this leads to more work for him; if he had had to rely on his modelling to pay his way he'd have starved to death by now.

Was that him with the beard...the good looking lad? That's who my eyes were drawn to.

I have to agree with you about the "good looking lad" bit - I think he is but I have an aunty's biased eyes!

I'm unbiased, yes he's a good looking fellow. Best of luck to him!

Cheers!

Thank you!

The pretty beardy lad? He should have taken the opportunity to look more directly in to the camera.

I hope this leads to bigger things for him.

I'm going to tell him you called him that, I think it would give him a thrill!
I hope so, too. ♥

He certainly has the looks for modelling, hope he can go further. Has he been to a drama school?

No he hasn't, he's actually a qualified personal trainer. Drama school is not a bad idea though, for sure.

Ooh. Best of luck to him, but yeah, I can believe it about the pay. I have a friend who straddles the border between amateur actor and professional extra (or, apparently, 'Supporting Artist', ahem), and it's hardly a lucrative occupation. And yes, we all end up watching stuff and pausing the machine to see 'look, there, in front of that window behind the dustbin. Is that him? Is it?'

Although, as he would be the first to point out, if we see him and not the main characters, he is not doing his job properly!

Hope your nephew gets to see some interesting places and meet interesting people.

Thank you, he needs the luck. He is going to interesting places, though, with his recent trip to Milan for the European spring shows, and then a side trip to Paris, and he's networking at the same time.

Paris? Milan? That is awesome!

It really was. Poor boy got sick while in Paris so he missed the opportunity to jump across the Channel to England as he had hoped. Maybe next time!
