Another great comedian / actor lost
I know this news is all over the place tonight, but still I need to mark the passing of Robin Williams, one of the few actors whose name alone was enough to get me to the movies. From the 70s kitsch "Mork and Mindy" which launched his screen career, to "The World According to Garp"; "Hook", "Good Morning Vietnam" and "Dead Poets Society" to name just my favourites. I loved the passion and the humanity that he brought to these roles.

And so soon after Rik Mayall. "Rick with a P" wasn't my favourite character in "The Young Ones" but he was certainly the one I watched with the most interest.

The world is a little bit dimmer tonight.

What? Oh no... He was absolutely one of my favourite actors, and everything I've read made me think he was a lovely person too... Sad, sad sad...

Very sad, to think he brought such happiness to millions but was so unhappy himself.

Agreed. Yesterday I searched the internet...finding all sorts of rumors of his death and comments to the contrary. I hoped it was yet another hoax...but sadly we now know it wasn't. He touched so many people with his humor, boundless energy, and amazing creativity yet sadly he couldn't chase the demons that haunted him. God Bless him, and his family.

You put it so well, "the demons that haunted him". So very sad.
