Weird, strange and wonderful.

Just had the strangest phone call from a telemarketer who didn't have the faintest clue what he was flogging. Seriously - he asked me if I was aware of the government legislation that allowed me to put more of my tax dollars back into my pocket, and I asked if he was talking about negatively gearing property, to which he replied that it was only his second week on the job and he really didn't know what it was all about, only that he had to make the calls and qualify the people and then pass them on to his supervisor who would then give out all the free information.
I declined, needless to say. :-)

Weekend just gone was a lot of fun. Even Saturday night's really bad movie (have you seen World War Z? No? Don't bother. Really, don't. Go for a walk or something. In the rain. It will still be better than that movie) was bearable with good company - my sister was testing out her 3D glasses / tv / bluray player so we made a night of it with takeaway for dinner and plenty of wine.

Saturday I had lunch with a friend who moved to Perth a few years ago, and was back in town just for the weekend. She's moving back for good in January! *happy dance*. It was so good to see her again and I'm really looking forward to her permanent return.

And then last night my son and his lady came over for dinner. How lucky is this - she works near the city and normally drives to work, leaving her car in an open car space, but last Thursday she had the day off so her car was parked undercover at home when the hail storm hit. My son was caught in the storm and resigned himself to having a very expensive repair bill - but when he checked his car in daylight on Friday he could not find one single dent. Amazing.
