Mall Day!
Shopping today! Local department store always has good sales in January and today they were offering 30% off the already-marked-down price of their sale items, and either 30% or 40% off the original price of everything else. The one thing I really needed was summer blouses for work and I managed to pick up five today, marked down from $70 to $40 and then 30% off - brilliant! Also jeans, a weekend tshirt and a cute little pale green cardi. Fun!

It was a bit of an expensive day though. Before the shopping began (and after being woken again by the heavy machinery outside - I hate them. I hate their children, I hate their unborn children) I had a trip to the vet as Bodie was refusing to put any weight on one back leg this morning. Poor little guy, he didn't enjoy the trip in the car and was practically doing somersaults in his cage, trying to get out. Vet couldn't find anything drastically wrong other than a little puncture mark on his hip (thanks Ziggy) so on the assumption that he's developing a cat bite abscess he's been loaded up with antibiotics (a two-week injection - how cool is that!) and pain relief. He dozed quite happily on the trip home! And he's walking much better tonight, too, I was pleased to see.

While I don't like to shop I do like a good sale so congrats on your haul. *g*

I'm sorry about Bodie's misadventure but at least it sounds like it was easily sorted. I've heard horror stories about those abscesses.

Thank you - I did think, at one point yesterday, that what was such good fun to me was exquisite torture to you. It WAS rewarding, though, and I shouldn't need any new work clothes for the rest of the year now.

Bodie was lucky that it wasn't any worse - a fully developed abscess is not a pretty thing. He seems no worse for wear today; the pain meds have worn off but he's walking with only the slightest hesitation.
