Mental as...
Full-on mad day today. Woke up at 7am which was a surprise as it was 1.30am when I'd staggered into bed. I decided to get up anyway as there were a few things I needed to do - I had to pick up some new car seat covers and also wanted to see about a new phone as my current one is really laggy and keeps freezing. Gotta love built-in obsolescence....

Anyway, got to the shopping centre to find that every single person in south-east Queensland had had the same thought. Drove round and round the usually-half-empty back section; suddenly found someone reversing out so dived into the empty spot. Then copped abuse from the guy who apparently had been waiting before me... I seriously hadn't seen him there, and I'm just not That Person who grabs spots that someone else is lined up for... I felt awful, and started to reverse out so that he could have the spot but he took off with a great squeal of tyres. Well I TRIED to do the right thing! But it left me shaky, I don't like conflict at all, and also feeling uneasy in case he came back and damaged my car. It's the same car park where my car was keyed a couple of years ago.

So, seat covers collected, new phone ordered (it isn't released until next week) I didn't bother getting any groceries but just headed to my sister's place. Had lunch there, with sister and bro-in-law, also my son and his fiancee turned up as they wanted to use my sister's sofa as the setting for photo on their Save-The-Date mailout. A new tradition, it seems, which is designed to have the prospective bride and groom spending even more money. What's wrong with just sending out wedding invitations?

Afterwards my sister had to go collect some new tech for her boss, and I elected to go with her. The stuff had been ordered and paid for, and we rang the store before we headed off across-town, but all the same once we arrived they couldn't find it anywhere. Not wanting to waste the trip we soon found things in-store that we wanted - seasons 5 and 6 of George Gently, for starters!

So, a very full day, followed by a dinner from KFC about which I am trying very hard to NOT feel guilty because when was the last time I bought junk food? I think it was last September but don't hold me to that *g*.

Sounds like quite an adventure and I'm sure people were out and about getting ready for Easter.

KFC....mmmm, wish I had one close by as that sort of junk food just hits the 'spot' sometimes. We only have a Mc Donalds, Burger King, a Dunkin' Doughnuts as our town limits such places...oh yes there's a hot dog place too. I try to avoid these places at all costs. Most of the food is quite icky.

Have a happy Easter!

Have a happy Easter! Thank you, I did, and I hope you did likewise.
There are no restrictions on junk food places where I live; it sounds as though your town council is a bit smarter than ours. Obesity is such a big problem if you'll pardon the pun, and now McDonalds even offers a home-delivery service! Not helping.

I don't think they limit them for health reasons; the won't let a lot of industry in the area trying to keep the amount of businesses to a minimum. There's a few strip malls and such. Very few decent restaurants, though there are at least 8 Chinese take aways, restaurants, and a sushi place. LOL!

I've noticed a weird tendency for shopping centres to get crowded on Easter. Perhaps the long weekend makes people feel like going shopping?

I'm sorry about the run-in with the angry bloke.

In recent years weddings and their related costs have expanded to the point of idiocy. It's not like spending a fortune makes you any more married so I don't get it but that's me. :D

The shops are shut on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, and it's as if everyone is panicking over that. Not that I can talk, as I was swelling the numbers in the shops. Left my grocery shopping until today, though, and it was a lot more peaceful.

People who get angry in cars - beeping and yelling - are stupid. What's the point?

I can understand his frustration, if he had been waiting longer than I had - he obviously thought it was his spot - but the anger is unproductive for sure. Still, it was a hot day, and driving around and around looking for a park is no fun! I just wondered about the example he was setting for his kids.
