My family crest should be an ostrich with its head in the sand.
... with the motto ignoratio beatitudo est

I'm worried about Harry. I know that his breed is predisposed to cardiomyopathy, and I know his breeder said that all her cats are tested, but he gets tired out so quickly, and sometimes when he's lying down his sides are heaving so quickly, much quicker than my other cats (and yes, I know their hearts beat faster than ours). And then today after a game of "chase the laser pointer" he was panting, and it wasn't that hot. I am studiously avoiding looking up cardio in cats; I've come across it before, when I was still breeding Birmans, as it lurked in their lines, but I.Just. Don't. Want. To. Know.

He's nearly due for his next vaccination. I think, when I take him for his needle, I'll have to ask for an Xray. But I don't want to.

Such beautiful cats. I'm not much of an animal person, but my daughter is. She is a vet tech and also works with horses on the side. She has animals instead of children. So I do realize how you feel about your pets. :/

Thank you, yes they are beautiful cats - although I could be biased, as I own Harry and bred Pickle!
