Winter is coming
It was nine degrees here earlier tonight, which explains why I was so cold walking home from the pub after dinner. It's supposed to drop to 6 degrees overnight, being the coldest night so far this year. A three-cat night I think.

Today was lovely in the sun if you could get out of the wind. I joined my crazy-cat-lady friends for a barbeque in the park, followed by a long walk around the park which encompasses a few acres. It's a lot of fun; so many people come up to us to see the cats and ask questions about them. I guess it's not every day you see a parade of Maine Coons at your local park.

Lineup of strollers - cats for the most part are hunkered down out of the breeze. Not something you see every day! That's Harry in the far right, and his dad Chirpy in the middle.

I've been borrowing a stroller from a friend but today I made a commitment and ordered my own one. Couldn't get the yellow that I wanted, and will have to settle for red and black (like Chirpy's pram, in the middle). Like father, like son I guess.

I read so many of your comments and think 'I must get back to that' and then get distracted and don't.

So I've made an especial effort with this one :0)

I've never seen a cat in a pushchair before - what a hoot! I'd certainly come up and talk to you all - and I'm not a cat person (although I wish someone would tell the cats that!)

Is that scooter solar powered? 'Cos, if it is, I haven't seen that either.

Anyway, it's been all thundery, muggy and warm here. We even had glorious sunshine after the torrential rain yesterday. I did a spot of weeding on some unloved common ground to give the pretty plants a chance against the dandelions (pretty, but over numerous) and the bindweed.

The other land is all grass and daisies, but this patch is mud and weeds. I'm hopeful that it will become more attractive if I pay it some attention. It had two lovely shrubs on it, but an over zealous neighbour took it upon himself to cut them down (thankfully he has moved on and they are resprouting). He used to cut his Rose of Sharon back just as it came into bud. It never flowered in all the time he lived there. I'm happy to say my new neighbours have not yet shown any similar desire to mutilate their plants. I know it's not mine, but it did use to look so pretty in bloom.

I know exactly what that's like! I often save links to entries that I want to comment on, and then after looking at the link for a few days finally decide that the conversation has moved on, and delete it....

Kids in particular are fascinated by the cats, although we did once have one little girl who told us that it was "stupid". My friend replied that we may be stupid but she was rude and that was a lot worse. *g*

Sony's scooter is battery powered with the solar acting as a top-up, it's not enough to charge the scooter by itself. Still pretty neat though.

I had read that London had rain on Thursday (is that where you are, or was the rain more widespread?) and it was thought that the rain may have kept some of the referendum voters away. Muggy and warm sounds good, though, and it's nice to get out into the garden on days like that.

I wasn't sure what bindweed was so I looked it up, and found this: up to 500 seeds are produced per plant with 80 per cent of the seeds capable of remaining dormant in the soil for at least 20 years. That's pretty amazing really, no wonder it's hard to get rid of. Good luck with that!

That looks like an excellent day! Lovely park, and lovely kitties enjoying the sights. :^)

The kids really did enjoy themselves, I think. Lots of "chattering" going on once they spied the ducks, for instance! And we got lucky with the weather. Friday was all gusty wind, while today was overcast and cool. Yesterday was just right.

I particularly like the ingenuity of the one attached to the mobility scooter. :D

The first time MG and I ever saw a pushchair *not* for kids was in a mall. As it happened it contained a toy poodle but from a distance all we could see was a pushchair with a heavy black screen across the front and MG said "OMG how ugly is that baby?" :D

That little cart is so cool! She could fit more than one cat in it, if she were so inclined.

Giggling at MG's comment; I suppose it must look like that from a distance.

The weather wasn't too bad on Saturday, except for the wind, and it does look lovely and sunny in your photo.

I love your friend's mobility scooter. It looks just like what I want to buy. Do you know what brand it is? Probably not. *bg*

The GC Cat Show was on down here on Saturday and there was a photo in the paper of a lady, Tracey Lamb, and her maine coon, Ceasar, a beautiful ginger and white cat which made me think of your Harry.

Oh oh oh excuse me squeeing but Tracey bred Harry! Harry's proper name is Fidelis Sherlock, Fidelis being Tracey's prefix. Caesar (Fidelis Catching Fire) did really well at the GC show, too - she had his results up on Facebook.

I don't know what brand the scooter is but I can certainly find out for you.

Oh Wow! I wasn't going to mention her name, but thought you'd probably know her. And you certainly did!!

Will email you the photo.

Thank you for that. She said on FB that around 200 people came to the show specifically looking for Caesar so she was pretty thrilled with it.
